A collaborative interactive environment exploring the popular horror motif of the maggot, as a metaphor of decay, transformation, or demonic activity, taking the participant through the emotional stages of dread and repulsion, as an accumulative, shared experience. Such an interface is based on the "swarm" mentality, whereby the more users that engage with the work, the more intense and abject the audio visual experience becomes. Also, as with a swarm, the participant is aware of themselves being part of one organic entity, rather than separate individuals. On entering the soft inflatable pink environment of the vinyl dome, the participants will be aware of the pliable and partly inflated floor, squishy and uncertain underfoot. Each step on this pliant surface will invoke a response from both the audio and projected images on the surface of the floor...
